Monday, Mid Day
Just completed photographing 48 archival figure drawings. New camera with SLR is much like my old Nikon F. So far I like it.... From photos, to slide presentation book, to digital photos, to on line presentations.... Progress.

Early Sunday Evening
Organizing my work and my thoughts about the work. Too many directions to go and discover to be very efficient.
What to use the blog for? My neglected stacks of drawings in my flat files put away, but never far from my thoughts? I want and need to continue in this direction. My early love of the human form is never completely out of mind. For many years this was my only artistic direction.. . then abandoned for more popular genre. . .color, trees, grass, fruit. In a real way, posting some figure images may ignite this need to continue. One instructor, many years ago, confided to me that he didn't paint the human form because it was too personal. He said landscape was safer, more distant. Perhaps the reason I feel compelled to revisit the figure is for a closer more sensitive depiction than one might have in landscape painting.
